The best thing about a mustang is the sound. You can pick one out of a crowd. Thats what made the final decision for me. I have a 96 cobra with a stage II procharger kit and intake and head work I would run the '02 GSX-R1000 for fun of coarse.

I had a cool sticker but I took it off, that had to cost me at least 7 hp at the wheels. Yeah I would still run you.

I got a modular mustang because I didn't want to look like I needed a mullet to fit the car... like I would with a camaro. I also didn't want to worry about broken push-rods... lol

I've always loved the look of the mustang. To me it was and still is the best looking sports car. My dad owned a couple of them77 cobra IIand a 70 boss 302 but it wasn't untill I rode in my friends 79 pace car, naturally aspirated and runs mid 10's that I decided to buy one for myself. Now I have a 99 gt v8 and know I wouldnt be as happy as I am with any other car. Plus it intimidates all the ricers on the strip.

You know what's fun about buying a Mustang over a Camaro or a Trans-Am? Being the underdog. Spend about $10k-$15k less than a T/A, dump all that extra money into upgrades for your pony, then hit the streets and spank all the GM guys into next week. Most guys who drive a T/A or Camaro will go out of their way to harass you if you're driving a Mustang, and that just adds to the fun factor as they get to watch your taillights fade into the distance.

Mustangs look and sound better, are cheaper to buy and maintain, and most importantly are easier to work on yourself. If there is anyone out there looking to get into cars and learn about how they work, a Ford is the best way to go. Has anyone tried to change the spark plugs in a T/A or Camro? In the newer models you actually have to drop the engine to reach the back plugs. I have a friend who had to take his to the dealer for everything because it was designed so poorly he couldn't work on it in the driveway.

Fords have always had the most reliable drivetrains and rearends in the business which, in my opinion, is one of the hardest areas to fix when they go bad.

It also seems like Mustangs have this mystique and history around them that other sports cars don't, not even vettes. It's just cool to drive a Mustang!

for me it was when I test drove a iroc and ask the dealer what was the best price..told me see the window sticker..told him see me walking...that was enough..to that point I was a gm guy all the way well from 89-today haven't bought a new gm...even in 89 the 'stangs here were hard to come buy..luckily my wife was great friends with a ford dealership owners...got mine for a lil over 10k as it stickerd for 15k...that was his price...so in 95 went out to buy an Impala ss funny thing was the sticker was the price...when I bought my truch chev wasn't even concidered....I got a loaded supercrew for 20999.00 it stickered 29k the only bad thing about the 'stangs if you can call it that is there are so many of them..this is why I stick with the fox
