Default Throttle Cable Problem

I recently installed a BBK Cold Air kit with a BBK 70mm throttle body and a Trick FLow Upper Plenum on my 2003 GT with exhaust. What worries me is that the throttle cable (the one that opens the throttle body when you step on the pedal) was nice and tight with the stock parts, but now that ive installed the performance parts, the cable is loose whether the engine is on or off. Ive cranked the car with no problem, and my friend says it is normal to have the cable a little loose, but im not sure if I believe him. Anyone have any serious advice for me. Im about to drive the car for the first time with these modifications tomorrow morning, and any help would be appreciated.

You could do the pedal mod I just did and it will take up the slack in the cable plus raise the pedal to about the same height as the brake pedal.

You need to have a little slack in the cable to allow for engine movement, but not much. As long as you can reach WOT it should be ok.
