2001 GT not starting. Did but died
I had to park my car outside over winter for the first time and I waited about 3 months to start it which was not the smartest move. When I went to start it, it would crank but not fire. This was during a cold snap so I crossed my fingers that it was just cold. Wishful thinking. I decided to just leave it and deal with it when it warmed up.
Now that it’s warmer I went out and it fired right up. Great. Except after letting it run for about 10 mins I tried to give it a mild rev up and it hesitated to rev, then went to about 2500 and wouldn’t go higher. It was fluctuating the revs and just generally not being happy. It was revving about the same as a small motor with a gummed up carburetor, that type of bs.
It died once. Started back up. Kept acting bad. Died again and now won’t start. Cranks fast but it sounds like it either isn’t getting fuel or isn’t getting spark (great job narrowing it down I know).
I checked voltage at the inertia switch and it was 11v. Checked voltage at the fuel pump (I think it was the fuel pump, the connector under the back bumper against the tank somewhere middle ish but passenger side) and it had 12v.
I didn’t check the schrader valve. I will on my next go at it.
I disconnected and reconnected the fuel rails and all the connections on the top of the motor which is likely doing nothing but it was an easy attempt.
Has anyone encountered this type of issue before and do you have any suggestions on what to try next?
I have never had any issues with the car in 6
years. It has never given me any single problem before. The part that throws me off is that it did run for a bit but it was super rough then wouldn’t start again.
I normally always park it with 94 but I honestly can’t remember if I did this time or not. It MIGHT have 87 or 89 in it so it could be bad gas. I topped it off with 94 from a jerry can (it was about 2/3 full at the time) when it didn’t start a couple months ago so the bad idle could maybe be bad gas? But that wouldn’t be the issue for just not starting a few months ago and not starting again now so I’m assuming it’s a sensor or module type issue.
the car is basically stock. Just exhaust and cold air intake. Everything else is stock. No tuner.
Any suggestions on what to check next?
Thanks in advance for your help!

After you rule out the above, it could be fuel related.
Outside for 3 months during winter and not driven. stuff in the lines was okay which is why it would've fired right up. Now that the stuff from the tank after 10 minutes has reach the engine, that could explain these "new" problems.
Another consideration is clogged exhaust from rodents making a nest in the exhaust system. An exhaust clog would keep the engine from revving as you have described.
