One of the rods came out the bottom to say hi. Heads seem to be ok, so just need a short block. 2 questions
Will a regular 4.6 iron block work?
I know mine is aluminum, so is there any other car out there with the same type block other than cobra?

Any 4.6 will work as long as its not a transverse mout continental motor

Found a couple of those continental motors, I guess thats why they are cheaper.

The mark viii's have the same short block other than cobras have the forged crank

+1 on the mark viii motors and they are a lot cheaper than a 96-98 cobra.

Mark VIII's are gonna be cheapest, probably, esp. since there are older ones. Lincoln Aviator or Mach1 will also work, but Mach1's tend to have a price that goes with the name.
