The reason I ask is because I have been debating buying myself a beater/dd to keep the miles off the stang. The stang currently have 28k miles on her and I put about 5k a year on her. The only thing is that I'm 21 and about ready to graduate college so I dont really have lots of extra cash for the beater lol. So do you think I should take a grand and buy a beater or use the 1000 for gears, midpipe and tuner?
just drive it. i say that for a few reasons.

1.) you owe money on it so why put yourself further in debt by buying a beater and paying extra insurance? plus im guessing you are paying for college as well? so you probably have student loans.

2.) the car is going to depreciate whether you put miles on it or not so you might as well get your money's worth. i plan to.

3.) 5K miles per year isn't that much either. i put on at least 12k (ive already put 7K on my mustang and ive only had it since june) and i know some people who put 20k+ on their vehicles.

4.) and last but not least.... why do you want to drive a crappy dd when you have a stang sitting in the garage?

btw...if you haven't guessed already my stang is my dd

1 more thing you might wanna add...
stangs are pretty common...might as well drive it! I cant get out of my car, my parents have cars available for me to drive whenever but i enjoy mines too much. Just enjoy your car man. why pay all that money for it to just sit in the garage and rust!
