Mine took a couple uses and it started to shift like butter.
I stopped at a buddies house last night, he drives a Z28 with a hurst short throw, he hopped in my car to check out the seats and he grabbed the shifter and felt the gears... Should have seen his face! It was absolutely priceless!!
Love my MGW

Oh yea, I had for over a year now, this is a shifter in its own class of shifters. Whatever you have out there, I have MGW and I will out shift you, har har.
One thing though, I found that after I year the rubber tranny boot (the one with betal frame in the bottom) broke. It tore right at the top. Thus car now louder inside, but still not enough to get a new boot. I recommend using a big tie wrap, and wide one, and tie it tight at the very top, maybe even use a piece of rubber under the tie wrap so not to damage the boot. This is a good idea because it will prevent the boot from tearing.
Now, I still manage to miss 3rd sometimes, mostly when Im not thinking what Im doing. I found the best position for the shfiter, so that you dont miss 3rd, is right in line for your hand moving towards 3 - 4 button on OEM radio. That way, you never miss 3rd, even if you slam the shifter. But its not very compfortable for 1st and 2nd shifts, and for road racing.
For road racing I have my shifter setup a little to the side, towards passenger. If you picture a straight line in the car, the shifter is 10 degrees to the right of it. It is now possible to miss 3rd, but is very compfortable for shifting while under g forces.
