Default Tuner Woth it?

Ok, I am about to order a set of motive 3.90 gears, mgw shifter, and either a sct xcal tuner or 2 dd bullits for the rear. I need tires in the rear so I decided it was time to step up to a wider rim. Here is my dilemma. Should I get the dd bulltis for the rear or the sct xcal tuner. The reason I ask this is because I dont have money to waste (poor college student) I know the tuner will calibrate the car for the gears, but will I see any power gain on a stock car?

I would go with the tuner. You'll be able to recalibrate for your gears and mess with your tune. Thats exactly what I plan on doing soon...3.90's and XCal

Thats also true. So basically make up your mind because we could sit on here all day and tell you the benefits of one or the other.

i say go with the wheels. save up for a dyno tune later down the road and just do some math to get your mph.

and as for power gains on the tuner it probably wont be enough for you to tell

your not going to see that much power from a tuner , maybe 10hp/15tq(advanced timing) . I would get thr tuner though . you can change other stuff w/ the tuner , like raise speed & rev limiter , 2-step , turn off trac control , turn off "check engine light " for mid pipe , read DTC's , datalog . first mod I got was SCT XC2 & PRP . JMO .

You could get DD bullits and tires and instead of spending $400 on a tuner could get a speed cal for $100.
