I'm not sure if this has been covered yet. I thought that higher octane the higher the price? But whereever I go midgrade gasoline is the cheapest. Any reason why?

Iowa and Nebraska always have 89 as the same price as 87 because of the corn. Ethanol production is huge in agricultural regions and the fact that you see them at the same price means you live in cornland.
They are trying to get an Ethanol plant in the Western reaches of Northern IL and I expect that 89 will drop down from the 10ยข gap it currently maintains if the plant goes through and becomes operational.
Where are you located JayBird?
