First day at the track
I had my first run at the track tonight but was a little dissapointed with my time. I ran a 15.2 at 92.59 - what would you expect for a 98 GT (bone stock right now)? I couldnt seem to get any traction even after a decent burnout...I need practice launching but would a new set of tires help? My 60 was 2.467 and 330 6.519.

RE: First day at the track
Your death arrived no more than 60' down the track..lol
2.4's are HORRIBLE regardless of what you're driving..
mid to low 15's shouldnt be too hard to achieve with a 2.0 60'

Yea, im not concerned with trying to keep up with edge stangs or a trans am, I just want to do the car a bit more justice. I will have to check how long those tires have been on there- but I forgot to mention I didnt lower the pressure at all. the temp was 60 at 320ft elevation.

dont lower the pressure in a stock tire, and dont do an excessive burnout on those tires either, actually not doin an allout burnout would be better, all you wanna do is clean the tires, just spin em once or twice and get ready.....otherwise your tires will get greasy and youll slip and slide down the track

15.2 isnt that bad with the holy moly of a 60ft time you had, LOL. If you can get that 60ft time down to about 2.2 or even a 2.1, 14's should be easy to come by. And you have a 5spd correct?
