Default Tried a few things for the track

Well I went to Richmond last night again. It was really hot and humid. I tried manually shifting my auto.

My best runs were in regular drive, the best was a 14.67@94.28 and worst in regular drive was a 15.06@93.17

My best manually shifting was a 14.89@94.48 and worst manually shifting was a 15.13@92.96.

My 60' sucked w/one below 2.2 and the rest a 2.3 and some change, I couldn't hookup at all.

A bad night at the track can mean up to 3 tenths or more over a low humidity cold nite. If you can, get that 4 cat mid pipe off your car and let that intake work better, also if you can put some 3;73 or 4:10 gears in you will see a big improvement.

I'm not sure why you bothered manually shifting your auto.

Some people are under the impression that the higher the RPMs you get into the more speed you obtain. Most dont understand that there is a drop in TQ and HP after a certain RPM. Maybe thats why. LOL

they also dont understand that the computer is gonna tell it to shift. stopping it from doing so is pointless unless your transmission slips so bad that it prematurely shifts before peak power.

Well let's consider, the guys over at MD, wanted to know if manually shifting helped, that's why I did it. And it actually does go higher in the rpm band.
