Default engine mounts

how would u check if ur mounts are bad??

Look at the rubber and see if it's cracked out or falling apart.

thanks for replyn, ill check it out, see wen i step on it from a roll in first there is a bang coming from up front, and i was thinkn it could be the mounts

Very possible, check your sway bar bushings as well as those are more likely to be bad then your motor mounts. If your motor mounts are bad then your motor outta twist pretty noticably even out of gear.

how do u know if the bushings are bad? they jus look worn?

Stock bushings and mounts and such are usually rubber, which dries out and rots away over time, so yeah just look to see if they're cracked out. You can usually replace them with urethane bushings and mounts which won't deflect like rubber and will last a lot longer. Urethane mounts and bushings are much more firm, and also water-resistant.

Could be tranny mounts also.

Also, if you have a CAI, those have been known to lift and slam down making a nasty noise under accelleration.

well, the trans mount that goes above the crossmember was bad, but i replaced that and the clunk is still there, so ill get under there b4 i hit the track today and look around.
