600 bucks for matierials? that must include paper and filler - Ive painted 2 cars for 300 in paint/clear/primer

Yes it did include all materials, but I use decent stuff. PPG DB series or Dupont Chromabase. Sure I have done cars for a couple hundred, but that was with cheepie Omni, which can look good but it does not last like higher quality paint does.

+1. It doesn't take a "good" painter very long to paint the car. What you're really paying for is them to strip down the car, tape everything up (take some parts off as well) prime it, sand it, etc.

it cost me $1500 cash to have my SWB single cab chevy pickup painted, just exterior with front bumper, rear roll pan, shaved tail lights, and bed cover as the only bit of work they had to finish up. like everyone keeps saying youre gonna get what you pay for. the truck looked AMAZING from about 10 feet away, but when you get right up on it and start picking at every detail, you could find a spot here and there that made you cringe. either way though, for what i paid, i can't complain. looks a lot better than the **** chipping and peeling off the hood!
