Good call I missed the cali part. I'm not familiar with the calii emissions. But I know their a bitch.
I've got a 97 bone stock cobra with the exception of the weld in flows and it sounds "ok"
Deff. need cats to pass emmisions in cali.
Exhaust will make your stang sound nice...but performance gains are questionable. Forget the bs the retailers throw in you face...it's all crap.
Hold out for a SC if you looking for anything out of the motor. I'd think you could get away with a catback though...idk...

I would guess it would be all in your catted midpipe.
Maybe contact your vendor and ask.

WHat I did was had the shop put in the Flows (they have a stock of Magnaflow and Flowmaster)...so I guess they justified the fitting. I think it'll sound good though. My MAC catback arrived today so I plan on puttin that on soon. FOr some reason though I love the sound of an x-pipe with MAC so im sure Flows will sound just as good too.
For the smog laws...from what I heard Cali is very **** (anul?) about that. Maybe you should attempt to email the DMV or something, that's what I did on a certain topic that I dont remember but they emailed me back within a few days.
