theres not many good intakes out there for 4.6's the best intake i know of is the 96-98 intake made by ford racing, but that is very costly and im not sure how it would fit the 99-04 stangs.

To be completely honest with you, an intake on a stock Mustang is a waste of money, and that is exactly how you'll feel if you go that route. If it is an option for you, look into getting some gears first, then worry about the other things. Just my $0.02
However, if you are set on getting a CAI, they are all pretty much the same in the gains department, some may be slightly better than others. I got the one from Steeda, and the quality is good, but I don't feel like I got any performance out of it.

i agree that they wont make a lot of hp, but its not always bout how much hp you make, sometimes if your engine can work easier or breathe easier in this case then you might free some power....its like running a mile and breathin through a straw, its a lot harder that way, doesnt mean breathing normal would make you faster but be a hell of a lot easier

I agree that it isn't a bad thing to do, however, I was just saying that doing a gear swap (say to 4.10s) would feel like a better use of the money because that is something that you really feel as opposed to some intake improvements that are good, but you don't really notice. I'm not saying to never get a CAI or upgrade the throttle body and plenum, I am just saying that doing gears first will make the car more fun to drive in the mean time.
