99-04 PI swap into a 96GT
I have been discussing my oil disappearing issue in the thread "self proclaimed 4.6L experts" I was advised to do a PI swap...can someone direct me to the proper sites or links that would assist me this swap. I want to research it and look into what I am facing this winter. Thanks again....THIS SITE IS FU**ING AWESOME hahaha

Well i read your oil issue thread and unless your sure its valve seals pi swap might not solve your prob. There are alot of dif things that could cause oil consumtion from leaks to burning. If you really want to resolve this first you need to find out were the oil is going.

RE: 99-04 PI swap into a 96GT
Do you mean that if I do a head swap I will still have the oil problem. I know that is the first issue to address but after that I need the direction on what to do? I got some great help from another member on th swap. I guess my question is do I need to do the total engine swap or would I be better off changing internals and upper/lower intake and other acc.

RE: 99-04 PI swap into a 96GT
What he is saying is that if you do the pi swap and it turns out that your valve seals weren't the reason you were losing/burning oil then it won't fix the problem. You need to diagnose the problem before you can fix it. A PI swap is a great thing to do but if you have a bad ring on a piston or a leak somewhere you will still be here asking where is my oil going.

RE: 99-04 PI swap into a 96GT
step 1 : find a junkyard with a 99-04 mustang GT
step 2 : ask if the motor is damaged.
step 3 : if the motor is ok, ask how much and check the miles on the car.
step 4 : if the milage is about 50k or less, then take it.
step 5 : give tehm your motor, and 1500, and your nice PI motor will now be inside your mustang.
step 6 : get an adapter for the air senser harness on the intake mani. as the 99+ only have 1, and the 96-98 have 2
