Speedo and gears for the 98?
From what Ive heard for the sn's its seems 3.73 or 3.90's are a good choice and probably what I will be purchasing. From what I understand, for a 98 GT a calibrator isnt needed and a gear can be replaced to match a new gearset. Will this correct both the speedometer and tach or just one? Also Ive heard that the speedo gear (thats the name right?) can be innacurate and its better to spend the extra money, however I would rather not as I am on a tight budget.
-As a side note a friend of mine who used to work at a body shop and has some experience with mechanics (not specifically drivetrain though) thinks he may be able to install them himself. Im not certain how difficult this would be but is it still smarter to have a garage install them?

go with 4.10's and pay someone who knows what they are doing to install or you will just have to pay someone else 2 months from now to install another set. You will need a speedcal from Dallas Mustang if you go with any gear higher then 3.55 since thats the highest speedo gear ford makes...plus they don't last long anyway.

+1 make sure you have someone professionally install the gears, and correct the speedo.
As far as the gear ratio itself. I recommend the gear based on your plans for the car. Sounds like you know what you want, just search the forums.. this topic has been beaten to death.
