Default remote start disaster

I recently had a Auto Page alarm w. remote starter put on the car. To get right to the point the son of a b***h took off up the street with me watching it from my kitchen window.[sm=jawdrop.gif] I started it from in the house and didn't hear it start, so I hit the start up button again, I hear it start and then see it take off up the street.
Thank God the kids on the block were in their front yard for once but it did hit a van right in front of the rear tire. It left a 4" to 6' line/dent/crease on the van with the most damage being done to my right front between the left corner lights and the tire. As soon as the husband comes home I'll be going over to see how they want to handle it.
So in the mean time I called the guy that did the install and the piece that I need to keep it from starting in gear( parking brake interlock or neutrak switch) will be available by mid week. So until then the wheel gets turned into the curb and I double check to make sure it's not in gear.

That's funny as hell, while it sucks at the same time.

Hope everything works out.

You popped the clutch thinking you were in neutral after it fired?

Man, that sucks!

I take my time getting in the car and starting it up for that reason. I did it in my 02 GT. I still had my parking brake engaged, so I got really lucky that the car just jerked and didn't travel at all.

Technically the shop that installed your remote starter is liable. I GUARANTEE, that the company that makes that remote starter system says that IT CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON A STICK SHIFT CAR! So theyre at fault here.
