Is the short throw shifter install something a beginner with very little knowledge can do? I was thinking about trying this myself.

for installing a steeda tri-ax..do you need the gasket and sealant? or can you just use rtv sealant?

i just used rtv silicone when i installed my tri-ax.

and to the OP: a shifter install is really simple, even someone who's not mechanically inclined can probably do it. if you've got a cordless drill with an adapter to use 1/4-drive sockets itwill make the install go even faster.

easy as pie.. basic handtools. and some muscle to get the old shifter off.

^+1 just make sure that the bolts that stop the shifter (2 of them) are set a tenth of an inch from the base (so it doesnt pop out of gear)
