Heh. That makes absolutely no sense at all. There are 489349498 million 99+ GT owners who have to run on 89 or 93 bone stock because of the quality of gas they get & weather....

It's so senseless. If you want economy, get rid of your car and pick up a turbo 4 banger. You'll still fill up with 93 but get 20+mpg

What about my original post confused you? Depending on the quality of fuel you get in your area, also factoring in the WEATHER. Yes, his car can OPERATE on 87 octane, but driving around with a PINGING engine is not going to it any good for it's longevity. So, my point is - if your going to do a 99+ engine swap, I'm going to pee my pants laughing if you're not capable of running on 87 octane without pinging.

The reason why I said they HAVE to run on 89 & 93 octane is for this reason: An operational engine after 60,000 miles!

why do gas cheap skates get a mustang if u want cheap gas buy a ricer i pay the couple bucks per tank for a smoother running engine u can't get something for nothing raise the compression u need better gas i also believe and this is only my belief that the manual says 87 so that cheap skates will also buy the car. they only have to warranty it for a few years after that it is not their peoblem

Well if they can run on 87 octane then obvioulsy they dont HAVE to have higher than 87 octane. I know numerous people who have 99+ GT's who dont run higher than 87 ocatane and I live in Arizona. The temepature is 100+ most days in the summer. If there vehicles can operate on 87 octane with no pinging in 100+ degree weather I'm pretty sure they should be able to operate fine almost anywhere else.

You have to factor in humidity. And YES, they HAVE to run higher than 87 octane if they plan on keeping metal from hitting the pavement.

Sure, my buddy can run his 04 GT on 87 all day and let it ping itself to death over time.

I dont know where u live but I live in Az like I said 100+ weather almost everyday in the summer. Humidity isnt to bad but I have at least 3 friends with 99+ GT's who can run all summer long on 87 with no pinging at all. So if you cant run on 87 octane without pining then you are either a bunch of dumb ****s or you live in an extremely humid place. Only place I can really think of that is that humid is somewhere in Florida.

The humidity in New England is disgusting.

I'll ignore the comment.

Every single GT bone stock can run fine on 87 octane with no pining. Dan just thinks he knows everything and since he cant run 87 octane with no pinging that automatically means nobody else can also. 100% of the GT's manfucatured are meant to run on 87 octane. I have yet to see an owners manual that says must have premium fuel or must have 89+ octane.

LOL, I'm not stock so I know I can't run 89 or lower.

I never said anything about a owners manual or such saying my friends BONE stock 04 GT needs to run higher than 87. All I said was his engine pinged like a mother, in order to eliminate the ping he has to run on 93. So what are you getting all hissy about again [&:]

Hell, my Dad's Titan pings and the manual recommends 87. He can run on 89 without any pinging though.
