The T-45 is a better transmission that weighs less and has less parasitic loss. What's the point?

Hey I was just saying I have done it and it can be done.

I did it because the T-45 was toast and I had a T3650 laying around.

The T45 is a Underrated Transmission that's even rated for more Tq stock. The only reason people beef up the 3650 is because it was a later model production so manufactures jumped on that band wagon.

I've got a T45 that took a pounding all summer with 155k miles and still shifts like its brand new...

The guy who had my car before me no doubt beat the hell out of my car, and it's transmission for 45,000 miles. I actually honestly don't know how a stock shifter feels in a Mustang, because when I bought my car it had some kind of short throw shifter in it. (NO idea how to find out what kind it is, lost contact with the guy) The transmission shifts smoothy into everything but 2nd. If you don't slam it into second, it doesn't go in very easily. Also, reverse grinds.. but I think that a lot of the Ford trannys do that.

Reverse is annoying and normal. Second is a syncho and 3650's have the same problems. Although not very well popular they make rebuild kits for the T45's that hold 650Tq. Most people say if you're going to rebuild, you might as well upgrade... I say it is only necessary if you have money to burn or you just want to say you have a "xxx" transmission. Honestly the only trans I'd switch out for is a T-56 or a stock auto with a nice Tq/Converter.

Laughable at best.

The Borg Warner T-45 was a good transmission, but is a piece of **** after Tremec purchase the rights to it.

Try flat shifting it at the track and see what happens!
3650 by far is stronger than the T-45!

I understand that however it's not possible (no Speedcal made to do ) to get a 3650 to run in a SN95 and have the speedo function correctly
