Default Filter housing?

Hey guys I recently removed the air silencer and I was wondering if removing the filter housing would do any good?

Well you could but you would have to modify it to hold your filter in. That and you will pick up a lot of engine heat. I would keep it.

You would likely gain more airflow but its gonna be much hotter underhood air. Keep it like it is or get an aftermarket CAI if you want more

unbolt the filter housing (should be one bolt on top), then pull it up and out b/c the silencer is hooked to it going into the fender. once you're out, rip that restrictive silencer outta that filter housing! You're on your way to better airflow

How about if you pull out the air silencer then cut away half of the plastic housing that is facing the fenderwall. It would increase air flow and still keep you from pulling in hot air from the engine.

I removed the housing and the filter is still hanging on to the pipe with that metal strap. The car accelerates smoother and bette better airflow, and I dont think its that hot since air is blowing in from under the car and through the fender..

dude, i wouldn't do that if i were you. hit a nice bump and that filter will knock loose and hello engine damage. i blew up my motocross bike twice w/ an air filter that came loose and sucked in dirt. i think that its not a very good idea
