my car has no owners manual in it, and im about to change the oil, i need to know how much oil a 97 gt takes, i didnt want to over/under fill it, and i dont have 17$ to go buy a haynes manual to find out, so id aprciate it if yall could LMK on that one, thanks

Someone earlier said 6 qts, so just buy six and check the dip stick between 5 and 6. I usually use 5 as a rule of thumb, but I havent had to change my oil yet, I've only had it bout 3 weeks so I'll know for sure prolly this weekend

5 qt some peoples take more, check your dip stick after 5 and add as needed

yea i only got 5 qts. my t/a takes 4.5 so i figured with a smaller displacement it would take less but thats why i asked, im trying to look on google right now to find out, but if someone knows for sure LMK

Mine was like 5 and a quarter or 5 and a half.

my 98gt takes 6 and my 2000 gt takes 5

ive always put 6.5 in my 98 gt..the dip stick showed perfect everytime..just put 4 quarts in it, check it and add more until u know.

wow, thats quite of an assortment of quarts, that was what i was going to do was add until it read right but i figured id get the exact amound just to save some trouble, ok thanks ill do that.
