Yea your gonna hear more noise now that the silencer's gone, thats normal. The intake isn't junk, but it won't perform much better, if any better, than the stocker. That one there is more for looks since it will get very hot.
Im going to have to disagree. I dont think that it is junk! At all. I mean the air flows through there so fast the tube getting hot doesnt change anything!! I say it adds around 5-10 horses... Your sucking in colder air and it is SO much less restricted then the stock air set-up.
