The SRT-4 & 99+ GT is a drivers race, the GTI weighs around the same and has less hp. I say pop your front tires and give him a chance.

Not to argue or to disagree with you but all the SRT4's at my track cant get out f the 15's. After running like three of them I couldnt see what the big deal was about them.
Anyway, I raced a brand spanking new, completely stock 1.8T GLI from a light about two months ago, after he got the initial 1 car jump on me (I was behind him not beside him) he continued to pull a good 1-2 cars on me. I run mid to high 15s... A 225 horsepower 1996 GT is going to have trouble getting past one of these cars.

i agree with 2000SI... i go to the track in Milan, MI and i see SRT4's bone stock running mid to even low 14's... i think the 96 GT should win, but it will be close... my buddy raced a GTI in his 94 wrangler (5 speed) and only lost by a lil over a car length... jus drive hard

yeahh im 17 tho and its my first car, and i live on long island, paying for insurace is hard enough .. 3900 a year ... only one way to find out.. next time i see him on the road were just gunna have to find out
