He is stock. Thats why I stated before that it might be a drivers race. And if they have upped the boost level then they may be dipping into the high 14's.

The SRT-4 & 99+ GT is a drivers race, the GTI weighs around the same and has less hp. I say pop your front tires and give him a chance.

Not to argue or to disagree with you but all the SRT4's at my track cant get out f the 15's. After running like three of them I couldnt see what the big deal was about them.
You said it yourself, your track sucks ***. perhaps that has something to do with it? Go find a new track.

Anyway, I raced a brand spanking new, completely stock 1.8T GLI from a light about two months ago, after he got the initial 1 car jump on me (I was behind him not beside him) he continued to pull a good 1-2 cars on me. I run mid to high 15s... A 225 horsepower 1996 GT is going to have trouble getting past one of these cars.

i agree with 2000SI... i go to the track in Milan, MI and i see SRT4's bone stock running mid to even low 14's... i think the 96 GT should win, but it will be close... my buddy raced a GTI in his 94 wrangler (5 speed) and only lost by a lil over a car length... jus drive hard

jd, them drivers must suck man and/or your track is bad. I've only ran my car one night but in my first run an srt-4 pulled up next to me. he ran a 14.3 compared to my 14.2 in that run. I have no clue if it was stock or modded, but it sure was quick. He had me off the line, but i ended up barely nudging him out. He gave me a good race.

I agree with steed, id say you got a real chance of winning but dont get cocky. Not to put your car down but those first 4.6s were dogs.
