loud click noise
Umm my 96 mustang GT is starting to make a noise, im not to sure of wut it is , i get the noise at about 1,500 rpms after shifting from 1st to 2nd or from 2nd to 3rd and its like a loud click, im not sure of wut it is i thought it could be the pressure plate in the clutch or the u-joint, if any1 has any ideas on wut it can be please let me know

RE: loud click noise
I had a very similar problem and it turned out to be a u-joint. I'd say start with that, u-joints are cheap enough, most likely will be the cure...yea, when the u-joint was bad in mine, it would click like you said, and it got progessively louder as I accelerated. Also noticed when I accelerate harder rather than slower, it would worsen the noise. I really thought it was my throw out bearing or something to do with the clutch, but lucky just a bad u-joint.

RE: loud click noise
it happens when im rolling fowards like once i give the car gas after letting the clutch out in a certian gear, the clutch on the car is fine im gonna take a look at the u-joint today and hopefully its that, thanks

no i shift over 2,000 and it drops to 1,500 and thats when it makes it ... i found out wut it was tho, its the exhaust like nicking the drive shaft... time for some new exhaust

RE: loud click noise
Are you sure it's the exhaust? I'd still check the U-joints. Mine does the same thing, it clicks when I let out the clutch and give it throttle, and I assume it's the U-joints. Just haven't gotten around to replacing them yet. Check to be sure because U-joints are a lot cheaper than a new exhaust.
