Today I put on my bbk off road x. I left the stock mufflers for now to see how it would sound and I think it sounds like crap. It made my car sound like a raspy ricer. Will this change with a set of 40 series flows? Im gonna be real pissed if I go buy mufflers and it sounds like garbage. any info. or recomen. would be great

well looks like u havent practiced the search button before u bought the O/R x pipe cause everybody would tell ya its gonna be raspy. As far as putting some mufflers its not gonna change anything...so u might wanna switch to the catted x or just man up.

I used to have the O/R x with flowmasters. My dad made fun of me and said it sounded like a ricer. He reved his durango and it sounded better. LOL then he reved his 69 firebird and my car stalled out of fear. That was when I first got the car. I will never use an Xpipe again it sounds like crap.

An X pipe has to be on the right car. You cant just throw it on any exhaust system. Please tell me my car sounds like a ricer. Race car, Yes. Ricer, No

Hey oxford, how much power does your setup make, and where did you make max power?

your car has a X zw?

generaly the rule is X's sound better with straight thru type resonators (slp, magnapacks etc etc)
H's sound better with chambered mufflers (flowmaster, mac etc etc)

Regular ole Magnaflows arent baffled. They are straight thru. I know the rules.

Its all a matter of opinion. I LOVE catted X's. O/R X's yeah I like them, but I wish my car had cats on it. Too beastly sounding. Itsvery un-magnaflow likeloud. It has a Magnaflow O/R X.

I had this exact same problem.. The BBK O/R X pipes sound like ***.. I had Flow Super 40s too.. I corrected the problem by getting a MAC H pipe.. I love the sound now..

BTW, anyone wanna by a BBK O/R X?

Havent had it dynoed yet. Waiting on my new intake to finish being built. I still have to throw in the electric water pump and add a few more goddies. I should be finished and dynoed by march. Me and my buddy who is fabbing the intake are estimating that I will be making about 410 to the wheels. We are trying to build NA 2v to get over 400rwhp. When I am done I will post all parts.

You are gonna need a BEAST of an intake. Are you still 2v? What heads/Cam? I cant imagine 350+. But I guess its possible. Good luck, and let me know how to get there with you! lol

O/R X + baffled mufflers = no
