Exhaust w/o ltbs?

Everyone here is going to tell you otherwise, but nobody has any hard evidence.
It's obvious long tube headers will as a whole, work out better performance wise. Both long tube's & shorties will increase HP & TQ, both will make a significant seat of the pants difference.
The difference is in the tube length & collectors on the 2 headers. Shorties are a 'poor mans' modification, they will add equal TQ numbers & increase HP just about the same as LT's on a otherwise stock GT. The difference lies in the TQ & HP curve & where the power is added. The LT's will add power throughout the entire curve, noticibly in the upper RPM's, whereas the shorties will make an increase throughout the curve much more in the lower rpm's and taper off towards redline.
Everyone keeps recommending, just save up...blahblahblah. Look, not everyone can afford to splurge $1,200 on exhaust work. Not everyone is patient enough to wait a summer or winter to save up the cash, good mechanics who don't bend you over are hard to find. Let's not get on the subject of emissions, some of us have to play by the rules. For some people, it's just not feasible.

RE: Exhaust w/o ltbs?
It's gonna run me about $1000 total to run LT's and true duals on my LS1 f-body....I would think it would be cheaper on a Mustang, but I may be mistaken.
