Well, it looks like it has been re-rezzed many times b/t then and now, first time I have heard of it...

i tried this and it worked amazingly, i was really annoyed by the hanging idle, and this fixed it completely. mine wouldn't idle at all with the 3/16 hole, so i bumped it up quite a bit and it worked great. it was $5 for a whole roll of gasket material at the local auto zone so i just cut out the shape from one of the oil quarts i used this morning. great tip

Ordered the kit off eBay for $10. The guy has 100% fb, so I will give it a shot. I had to unstick my IAC about a year ago, since it just died randomly on me, cleaned it out and hasn't done it since! I hope this fixes the hanging idle on mine, I look forward to smoother shifts.

Awesome mod...finally got around to doing this myself. I ended with at 1/4" hole, $6 investment, and 10 minutes less of my time INCLUDING taking it on a test drive. Best part is that it's completely reversible.

the question still looms....

will this harm the engine in anyway?

Or you can go to Home Depot and buy a 1/2" copper pipe cap, drill a hole in it (start at 1/4") and stick it into the IAC feed tube--83¢ and no tools needed to swap it out...

It doesn't matter where you restrict the air flow--"a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link"...

very nice, Cliffy. As Usual. Will have to do this, I like the idea better.

OT, but I really like how you painted your TC and Plenum. I have the same ones, and might just have to follow suit and do that to mine. Either Black or yellow, not quite sure. Any tips?

Default COOL....

wtg coolaid worked like a charm...ingenious fix..couldnt stand the hanging rpm's just because of a smog thing..now when I back down I dont just coast I actually slow down, and the sound is better when I give it a short rev like the old hot rods...love it
