Question about Dyno-tuning

RE: Question about Dyno-tuning
Supercharged96gt, I understand your frustration. The shop in Austin obviously didn't know what they were doing. To tune a car using a MAF tuner, timing adjuster and wideband, you need to get it on the street and load it up under power at rpm. Reving it won't help much, because you're not 'loading' the motor. No doubt, for a layman trying to decide how to tune a mustang, my method is probably a little advanced. Either way, you accompolished your goal and your car is tuned. I was just reinforcing the fact that you don't necessarily need a dyno to get a good tune. I think some people that read this series of posts think I and knocking dynos, or am somehow against dynos. Not at all. I'm just sayin' there is more than one way to skin a cat.

RE: Question about Dyno-tuning
When I had my car run, the tuner already knew what parameteres (Timing, Fuel, etc.) he was going to load before ever strapping it up.
The dyno pull was just to verify what he already knew, and a means to check the A/F ratio with the car under load.
Oh, and #'s for me.
