98 gt cams

RE: 98 gt cams
if you plan to swap your heads, dont bother with cams yet. the big difference between these heads as far as cams go is that the non pi heads can only support a .500 lift, while pi cams can support a .550 lift. you can do cams and bolt ons now, and reach 230-240 whp, it's being done, or wait like i did, and do cams with pi heads and break 300. your choice. lots of different ways you can do it. if you just want a little more power and a good lopey idle, get the 262 cams on your non pi heads. if you want the power and have a few grand to spare, do a ported pi head/cam swap like i did and make some good power.

i should have been able to do it for under 4K, but i had a few bugs to deal with (bad injector) and i couldnt get a swap kit. i had to buy the bolts gaskets and etc seperately.
it'll vary based on who you hire for the swap, current parts prices etc. if you can find a set of PI heads cheap do it, and give them to your local mustang tuner. or buy a package if he offers it, or buy VT's Stage I or II swap package. VT is among if not the best way to go about a headswap unless you have a super good ford engine builder near you.
