Really, the best thing you can do is pick a day when the roads are decent and take the car around the block 4-5 times. Just starting it and rolling it back and forth in a storage garage isn't going to properly lubricate anything.

A engine can sit for months and months before you have to be concerned about starting it. Ever notice how long a car will sit in the same spot at a dealership...

Really, your main concern is getting your transmission & rear-end fluids up to operating temperature.

I have to put my car in storage Oct. 25, and there is no way, even on a good day I will let that car toch snow, or the salt the roads are plastered with. It needs to sit inside all winter in the heated garage, so I dunno what I will do either blueangelfghtr. Guess I will have to rebuild in the spring.[&o]

Get a good set of rollers and sit your rear on them in the garage and bolt it down as if it were on a dyno and go to town once every two weeks on them. LOL Im sure you can have some fabricated if not bought from a store somewhere.

Wow . Thats the craziest idea ever (but it just might work). And 2001_SaleenS281_08 is right [sm=youreright.gif]. Not in a million years would I let it hit the snow and salf over the roads [sm=forgetit.gif]. And the winters aren't really THAT bad here just don't want it to be out with the weather. Thanks for the info guys. [sm=smiley4.gif]

If you take your car for a ride, the salt can only harm the under carriage if it's activated by water/moisture. You could let the salt sit on your car all winter and it won't do anything. Some of ya are making a bigger deal than what's needed about this.

I had my car in storage, I took it out once every 2 weeks for a couple trips around town with salt all over the dry roads. I let the salt sit on the undercarriage all winter and I don't have a spec of rust underneath my car anywhere but my driveshaft.

Salt stays on the roads all year long. If you drive your car on wet roads in the spring and summer, you are letting salt get all over your car..just food for thought. If you are that crazy about it. But your car on jackstands and let'er run on them.
