98 GT thoughts and opinions
Well... Im meeting up tommorow with a guy selling a 98 GT. Its a 5spd with around 90k mi. on it. Are there any specifics to look for on that year and is that engine proven to last well over 150k, if it was taken care of? I havent seen it yet so what kind of things should I watch out for before I commit to buying it? BTW, Im very excited about it and hope everything works out good, I think a V8 will be a good change from the Import 4cyls im used too... haha.
So whatcha think about the 98 GT's?

ahh yes.. gotta love the 98's lol. good cars. i have had mine for a few months now. i bought it with around 66k on it. they definitly run for a while, but make sure it was well taken car of. inspect the car both inside and out. and see how it drives. 90k isnt extremely high, but definitly be sure it wasn't abused. good luck.

I like mine. If you dont care about power, go ahead and get it. 90k is alot, but i service a 330,000 mile 95 GT at my dealership. i got mine w/ 32,000 miles for 8k. So keep that in mine when you pay for youres. They are not worth alot. But they are nice. Not really anything to watch out for except sign of it being beat on. Make sure you listen for the imfamous throw out bearing noise. I dunno what else to say so im gonna leave at that. Questions help more. So if you have questions dont be afraid to ask.

If you're talking about the custom sub enclosure that JL makes for mustangs......I'm not sure if a w-7 can fit that. I think they magnet may be too large.

My first mustang was a 98. I loved that car! If I were you though I would at least look for a 99+ if your looking for power and speed. If you just want something to cruise around in and play with a little bit then the 98 is a great car. I also love that body style.
