Default Long Tubes & Catted X!

Hey fellow Stang lovers! I want to purchase a set of long tubes and a catted x pipe for my 04 5 speed. I have been doing some research and I like the bbk stuff, they look like good products. I also saw a catted x on mustangtuning.com for only $284. Is this a good product??? Whats the best combination for power and sound??? Oh and I also have the Magnapack cat-back system so it all needs to fit properly.

Just remember you might not pass emmissions if that means anything to you. But either way, do not order anything from mustangtuning. Get bbks long tube headers with matching x pipe assembly and it should fit right up to your catback magnaflows. If youre not sure exactly which ones, call the sales rep at summitracing.com and ask them for assistance.

I will check that out. Thanks for the info guys! I thought the catted x would still pass emissions, I live in california so I do need to pass them. If they cant pass then whats the point of getting them?

No my friend youve got it mixed up. The catted X will pass emmissions, the longtubes will not.

Oh ok! Sorry bout that LOL! Is there anything I can do to make it pass with the long tubes? Or is there another direction I could go in that would give me the same power increase?

Unless you get serious about hp, longtubes will give you maybe 1 or 2 more hp than high performance shorties. BBK has some good shorties as well, and so does JBA.

Some states regulate the amount of emission that cars put out. I live in PA and certain counties have it and others don't. But if you have it, emission testing it is done when the car is inspected to ensure the car is running clean and that your emission output isn't horrible. If you have an OBD I car then testing is done using a sniffer in the exhaust. OBD II they plug into the computer. So from what I understand if you don't throw a code in an OBD II car then you should past testing but for now I don't have testing so I'm not that concerned.
