Default 17" vs. 18" wheels

I'm stuck on wheel choices for my stang. I hear that 17" generally provide a better ride than 18" wheels, but I think 18" wheels look MUCH better in most cases. AmericanMuscle has some 18" chrome Cobra-R's on sale which I am looking into....

What are pros and cons here? Everybody with 18" wheels, please speak up!

the 18's look better imo but your going to pay out the *** for tires when you compare them to 17's

I have a set of 99 Cobras, and they're 17" wheels. They look great, I think.

I think 17" wheels will look great, especially if they're Cobras. It also looks much better if the car is lowered.

i think 18s look a ton better. also...dont know if you have any long term plans for your car...but if you ever plan on a big performance brake kit...a lot of them require 18s i believe.

some might say that 18s also add rotational mass or whatever and make the car slower...which is true...but i really dont think its anything big enough to notice that would bother you.

I have 17" bullits and a buddie has the same wheels but in 18" and it looks so much better. IMO if i were to do it again i would def save up a couple more bucks and get the 18". Now if you wanna save some money and have something unique you could do the staggered stance, which is wat i would do if i was keeping the car. 17" up front and 18" DD out back with a nice drop in the front and not so much out back has a very nice visual appeal.

18's are sweet lookin. if your going to spend all the money for rims spend an extra 10 bucks or so per rim for 18's instead of 17's. They will both look good but the 18's will look better.

18's look much better, especially when parked next to a car with 17's, just save another month or two and get the 18's!
