Default Oil Recomendations

What kind of oil should I use in my 98 GT with around 100k mi.?
Its for everyday drving and the occasional hard driving on the weekends. So what kind of oil and what viscosity should i use?

5w30 the oil of your choice, viscosity is more important than brand

temp matters, but not alot. Maybe 10w30 in the summer. If you get a lil smoke since your high mileage then move up to 10w40.

6 quarts, always change the filter. Buy the best brand of oil and filter you can get your hands on. Don't use the cheap stuff. I used to use Castrol but alot of members said they had problems with it.

I dunno, I use Amsoil anyway.

My 96 GT has about 107k miles and I use Valvoline Max Life 5w30 and Mobil 1 oil filter. You'll have to get 7 quarts cuz it holds 6.4 quarts with the filter.

I like to use a semi synthetic on high mileage engines. You get the best of both worlds synthetic properties against thermal conditions and natural oil for viscosity during normal day to day driving.

Ya, I was using semi synthetic on my 240sx and i was happy with it. I used the Castrol Syntec. So I may try that.
Damn.... I cant believe it takes that much oil.. These oil changes are going to get expensive.
