I used to own a 1995 Z28....The car was fine but I went through two water pumps before 100K miles...Not to mention there is no room in the engine compartment to work on it....Looks are opinionated so I won't go there..

I bought the Mustang because I have never owned one before and the ride is more comfortable (you sit more upright). My only gripe is the seatbelts will get kinked, And every once in a while my windshield wipers will run one cycle without me even turning them on. (possible electrical problem)

I wanted either a Mustang or an LS1 WS6 TA. Insurence was too high for me on the TA so I got a Mustang but I have always been a Mustang fan, well American sports car fan. I love the sound of the 4.6 though.

I went with a mustang since I wanted a 2002 camaro ss or T/A WS-6 without T-tops. Practically impossible to find it seems. So I went with a Mustang. I like all of the cars, they each have their own positives and negatives associated with them, opinionated or not.

I chose the mustang for several reasons:

1) I've owned several and I love it as an American icon

2) The F-bodies kept getting fuglier, and I think the Mustang is a better looking car.

3) It was not about power. I can carry my kids in the back fairly easily, but that is next to impossible with an F-body. Oh yeah, I don't like laying down to drive and peering over 8 yards of hood.

4) Did anyone look at what the prices were? For the love of God, they were about 10K more. For half of that, I could have added a KB and smoked them, if I were so inclined.

1.) More car for less money as far as options and comfort
2.) 98+ LS1 durability issues with wimpy 7.5' axle
3.) Nothing beats the look of a New Edge
4.) Camaros/TAs have hokey interiors
5.)My track record with Ford products have been very positive as far as durability
6.) Fast isnt everything. I don't have the opportunity to street race/track race the car every day, and around here anything that can take even a stock New Edge is rare.

There is a famous MF quote you will run across on this site: You can make a Mustang faster, but you can't make a Camaro look good.

Styling mostly, I really do not like the styling of the later model Camaros (or for that matter most GM products)...

Haha you just have to know how to work it. My drivers side is perfect because i learned all about that in my old one! My passenger side one is all F'ed up but i dont care about that one

I drove two hours too a dealer to buy a 2002 camaro Z28 and they happened to have my car on the lot sitting next to the camaro. My Dad and I both agreed that the mustang looked a million times cooler than the camaro! But the available aftermarket parts for the Mustang is what sold me. I figured i could have fun modding my Mustang for a couple extra thousand bucks too make it fast and have the better styling.
