where is the "Middle Man"?
Is it just me or does it seem that there is no Middle Man in the current Mustang line up? You can get a V6 for 22-24k, Gt for 28-32K in the 300 hp range......... then you need to come up with another 30k if you want to play in the Cobra arena 500hp. Doesn't seem like a joke that in 2004 a Cobra cost 34-38k and in 2007 a Cobra (after dealer mark up) is 60+k. Ford should make a middle of the road Cobra, just Cobra, not Shelby, with 400 Hp in the 38-40 k range. Just a thought.

I like what your saying and your right. Back in 03/04 you had the v6, GT, Mach 1, and Cobra. Now its just basically a v6 or GT, because your not gonna see GT500's like you do Cobras. I think sometime in the next few years Ford will open up and build a 350-400hp N/A Mustang to hang with the Camaros and Challengers. I actually love what they did with the 2000 Cobra R, 385hp, 5.4L DOHC v8. Too bad it was only made one year and it was red with a hideous spoiler.

Ford needs to come up with something. 2009 the new camaro comes out with 400hp stock, the GTO is already 400hp and Mustang.... the original "Muscle Car" is behind the power curve here.

First off the Cobra 'R' wing, on a true Cobra 'R' wing, is a good wing. Some cars that have those type wings are OK to have them! but i'd never put one on any other car other then a Cobra 'R'.
Second, the lineup is 18-23k V6, 24-32k GT, and 42-45k Shelby. Ford cannot control what the dealers charge. The markups will come down.
The word is, is that Ford is working on a 5.4L 3V for the newer stangs, to compete with the challenger, Camaro, etc. But you guys act surprised if the Mustang is going to be behind them in power. Aren't you use to it yet?? lol

RE: where is the "Middle Man"?
There is supposed to be another spec car coming out soon, either another mach 1 or perhaps a boss etc.I have heard about several different cars they are thinking about.
Give em time.. they already have 3 almost completely different setups going on a car that is only a couple years old. Now that they have the production time on the GTs where they can keep them on the lot, and they have the GT500 launched and production up, its only a matter of time.

Ford has the 5.4 4v in the Shelby... they can't put it in anything else...

Why is Ford stuck on the 3v design?? Doesn't it seem the a 4v would produce more power??? More efficiency correct??
