Default my 03 vs my bosses 05. throttle response???

i just bought my 03gt used. its stock up and down except for a k&n filter and that little attachment has been removed that pushes air out of the fender. since i bought my car i cannot seem to chirp or burn the tires in second. the tires are new bf goodrich 17s, and the car seems very strong and gets good launches in 1st, but can never get a good launch out of seconnd and definetly not 3rd. havent heard a chirp in second yet out of a hundred tries. so i borrowed my bosses 05 mustang with stock everything including tires (so her tires are over 2 years old) and i chirped in second on the 1st try. second try the car chirped and even got a little sideways. what the hell? it definetly felt it pulled harder in the shifts. is there a chance this could be the tires? my car feels very quick and it pulls good in all gears. just no chirp. im hoping my dealer didnt take some mods off my car and the tune isnt right or something. i havent checked the plugs yet. but the dealer said they have checked the car thouroghly. seems it could be just good tires cause the car is fast, but i would think if i wanted i could get the car squirrely with my shifts if needed.

Your car a 5 speed? You turn off T/C? Maybe you're not shifting fast enough.

Honestly not chirping is probably good. That means that you have complete traction. My friends Honda chirps 2 and 3rd...it's stock so I'm sure it's real powerful. Like 120 hp strong

What RPM are you launching at?? Also, remember, the new Mustangs have about 40 more HP than the New Edge...

Also, which BFG's do you have??

i didnt realize the newer stangs had that much more horse, and i have tried launching at about every rpm up to red line. in her car, i launched about 5500 rpms and chirped easy.

40 HP is a good difference but if you want to chirp 2nd in a stock '03 you need to speed shift or just get 4.10 gears.

not necessarily, I can chirp in second occasionally. Try shifting at 4500 and slam the throttle back down a fraction of second before the engagement point.

Tires will play a huge part in this. Also, if your doing it on rough, seasoned asphalt. If you have good tread on those meats they will grab the ground good. My new Exclaim UHPs are on the way right now, but with my bald *** 255/40/17 Falken Ziex ZE512s I can acutally spin like 5-7 feet through second gear at over 4600ft altitude on a stock 4.6PI. When I first got the car I could spin them slightly in second with a hard shift, but like I said, now that the tires are balder then Brittany Spears I can usually spin them through second on a hard shift. This is coming into second gear at around 5-5800 RPM which I really don't do anymore nor reccommend [8D]
