Default changing spark plugs

Hi All,

Im prepping to change my spark plugs. Am I suppose to disconnect the negative battery cable before I start?

Also, to make it easier to loosen up the existing plugs, is it ok to spray a little wd-40 onto them before removing them?

Thanks,

Techsent

i disconnect the battery just to be safe. DONT spray wd40 on the plugs, you dont want that getting in the grooves on the threading for the spark plug, and you want your tools to be able to grip the spark plug to remove them. if you want to loosen them, get a torque wrench, tighten them a little then try to remove them, this usually loosens them. and of course let the engine cool BEFORE attempting to remove any of the plugs. What kind of plugs are you going to install?

Your plugs should be easy to take out. They shouldn't be torqued down that hard. Mine were cake to take out when I did my s/c install.

I got some TR55's that I'm going to put in. Do I need to gap them any differently or leave them?
