Gears question

Gears question
I have a quick question. I had been set on 4.10 gears, mostly because its what you guys recommend running an auto transmission. However, ive recently thought about my plans for this car, which includes F/I. Should i stick with 4.10 or go with 3.73. I also saw a gear kit for 4.30. Is this applicable for the best results using auto + F/I. Thanks for anyand all help.

RE: Gears question
there is no reasonable point other than the track to ever worry about lowering the overall top speed of your car (and you'll never hit that speed in the 1/4 mile) Our cars can go a bit faster than our spedometers read...plenty of people on here have pegged 150...
if you're ever in a situation where you're street racing and hitting your top speed, you gotta re-think what you're doing becuase you're going to kill yourself or someone eles doing that....especially in a vert...IMO anyway....
p.s. go 4:10s

RE: Gears question
You'll probably loose a few mpg's, as far as engine life goes, just keep very up to date on your oil changes and it'll be fine.
Go 4.10's. With an auto, even if you are f/i, it will be fine. IMO the reason most say to get 3.73s if you are going f/i is most are 5 speeds. 5 speed tranny + 4.10s + f/i = Lots of fast shifting.
