No matter how many you ask you're gonna get different answers. And in this forum most will say mustang. In a camaro forum most will say camaro. Eachhave thier advantages and disadvantages.Ill give you mine, if your looking for power and speed get the ls1. If your looking for whats best in style and looks better well i cant help you there cus its all opinions. Id say get what your heart truly desires. I own a 2001 camaro ss and imo i like thespeed better and the looks better than a mustang. But i dont like the interior of the camaro as much as i like it in the mustang, that and they put a ****ing weak *** rear end in the f-bodies which i dont like. But to be honest id say just decide for yourself dont go by what other peoplesay you should do. Thats my opinion.

well there is a local guy with a 99cobra that put 304hp to the wheel with just a cat back, and here is his page, he has lots of vids and info on the car

As everyone has said, if you want cheap, easy, loads of power to put yourself solidly into the 12's with nothign more than intake/gears/exhaust/dr's *and new rear end.. lol* then go with the LS1 F-Body of some sort.
If you're like most of us, and just truly the Mustang is your favorite car regardless of any shortcomings, get a Cobra. I think they look great even with such subtle differences from a new edge GT. The power is still there, just not as easily obtainable. You'll be in a less common vehicle, not that F-Body LS1's are as common as new edge GT's but they're more common than Cobras.
Street/Strip Terror = LS1
Still Very Fast, but Daily Friendly = Cobra of some sort.

i drove my buddys 01 cobra. stick of course.
and it was definitally lacking power. i thought it would be faster.
the 99 cobras are obviously faster then the z28's.
iwas very dissapointedwhen i got on it in the cobra.
unless it was an 03/04 cobra, then i would be happy

Honestly you can get the exact power out of either one.... but in the end when its all said and done do you want to be driving a mustang or a camaro? Thats what it comes down too. And if you decide on the camaro have fun learning how to park it

While the Cobras are better than the GTs you'll end up at the same spot...having to drop $$$ to go fast.
I would go with a Trans-Am. They look nice and we all know about the LS1 motor[&:]...now I will say this I thought the Mustangs interior was bad but those things are just horrible. You're just surrounded with tupperware rouged from GMs kitchens
DO NOT go with a Camaro. Those cars are ****ing ugly and anyone that thinks Camaro>Mustang in the looks department is off their rocker. A black SS is ok...but that's only one acceptable color.
