Default Squeeky steering on 97 gt

I get an anoying squeek when i turn the wheel right or left. Its not the power steering squeek either. I greased a few conections to wheels but its still there. Steering seems to be fine-no play in wheel. Thanks for the newbie help!! Dan

yeah alot of Mustang including the 99+ have a unusual squeek in the left upper strut area. I got rid of mine all at once by getting springs and struts.

I know you said you don't think its the powersteering, but try this... worked for me.. I had the same annoying squeak on my 97 GT. Empty your power steering resevior and refill with new fluid. If you haven't done this already, I am positive your squeak will disappear. Downside to this... You will have to repeat this process when the squeak returns, and it will return! Or you could by a new power steering pump.... I was told that what causes this problem.
