What I just did was straightened out a clothes hanger and slid it down the slot in the front of the support bar and when it stopped you push down on the headrest and wire together then slide the headrest right off. Real easy once you know how..lol

you need use a hacksaw blade at least 12 inches long use the fine teeth ones, you can get em at home depot for a few couple bucks, slide the blade down the front of the post then slide it down with the post till it stops,at this point the headrest and the blade should be all the way down now just slide it up together and badabing,no headrest.

I took my '99's off buy using the coat hanger down the front slot method.
Pull the head rest all the way up, slid the coat hanger down the slot until you feel it stop, push both down together until you hear a distinct "click", then pull the whole thing straight up and out. It took me 20 minutes of farting around with the first one until I heard the audiable "click", but once I got that figured out the second one took less then 10 seconds to get out.

I use the coat hanger method, as described above. Once you get the "knack" it takes just a few seconds to pop 'em off...

File a "ball end" on the wire and it will go in easier, same as nature designed things...

I always use a dull hack saw blade. 2 seconds every time.
