What most don't realize is that while you think that by boycotting the biggies like Exxon, Valero,BP, Shell etc...& only buying from the small independents that you are hurting them (the majors) you are still buying their gas but from someone else.
The Exxons and the rest of the majors own all the refineries and sell under their own brands while also wholesaling to these other jobbers.
Someone mentioned WAWA. Wawa does not own a refinery so you are still buying a majors fuel and they are still getting a piece of your $$ albeit indirectly.
You would be very surprised to find out where the gas you are buying is being refined if it is at a non major location.
Hell, Wal Mart doesn't even own a refinery. They buy all their gas from Murphy Oil.
