How much Trans Fluid I need for A flush?
I would Like to put royal purpil in my tranny how much fluid do I need? Also could I drain all the fluid myself or should I go to a shop and get it all flushed out?

save your money.. its easy. you can either put it through the top where the shifter is, or on the side of the tranny. get a little pump from autozone. as for the amount of fluid i cant remenber ill wait for someone to chime in

An automatic transmission flush will take 16qts...at least thats what we do at the dealership I work at. But if your just draining and replacing the fluid...I think the automatic holds somewhere around 9qts of fluid.

Well since its an auto, to drain it you take off the pan if it doesnt have a drain plug. You can go ahead and change the filter, your decision. You will need a new gasket for the pan also. I would get 7 quarts of fluid so that you know you will have enough. Start off by adding 5 quarts first. You might have to drive it down the road a short way and check it again to get an accurate reading. I'm pretty sure it needs six, BUT BE SURE NOT TO OVERFILL. This will not drain the fluid out of the torque converter. If that was the case you would need more like 13 quarts. The capacity for a full refill and just draining the transmission should be in the owners manual, not positive though.
