Default is this true about off road x-pipe?

I took my 99 gt mustang to a mechanic 'cause my check engine light was on. Before I took it to Autozone, the scanner said the car was running lean. The mechanic told me to change the iac which I did 3 times. So far their might be a vacuum leak but I don't know where it is. Also he said the off road x-pipe wouldburn my valves. Is this true? He says I need at least one caliconverter to keep that from happening. Wouldn't that be the purpose of going off road.[&o]NEED HELP DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. NEWBIE TO MUSTANG!!!

look i only did bolts ons it has ford shorty headers, bassani or x pipe, flowmaster 40 series, mac cold air intake, accufab plenum and a throtle body, and the mils, i dont have a tunner. but the people at autozone told me to check for a vacume leake i sprayed all kinds of stuff on the engine and i did no hear the rpms change. i even took it to the car wash and still no change of the rpms.so my question is, is there a crack hose some where? by the way the iac i got it at autozone (replaced it 3 times). the mechanic said that i sould get the motorcraft one is this a god idea? wold it help? also he told me that he wanted to weld on some cats on the off road x pipe so the car valves wont mess up! i thought he was stupid i rather put on the factory h pipe on and sell the off road. so where would be a good idea to start looking for the leak? what hose should i look at for the leak?

First, find a new mechanic and get a second opinion...

listen to the people here,, your mechanic is throwing all this crap out like its true... your off road x will throw a code due to the smog equipment being delets.. go look for some mil eliminators or a tuner to turn o2 sensors off..

If you are running lean, check your MAF.

If he told you this he must use the term "mechanic" pretty loosely.
