how do you reset your ecu?

Default how do you reset your ecu?

anyone know? i heard disconnect the battery and turn the key to acc on and then take it out and reconnect battery.. does this work or is their a better method?

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and hook it back up.

With the key on acc, disconnect battery for 30 mins.

ill just leave the key in and disconect the battery over night, and see in the morning.

I just bought my 03 stang and the person that had it before me programmed the ECU. If i disconnect the battery and keep the key turned will that get rid of the programming

so you know..your computer will go retarded...and at first will run like ****..bc ur computer forgets everything and doesnt know how to run properly...it will take some driving for it to re learn itself

i was told i needed to do this or buy a new ECUbecause i am getting 373's installed and they said they can't program it because i don't know what the last person used and how they programmed it. Is that correct?

if you just get a tuner youll be fine..thats the point of the tuner to reprogram the computer..therfor erasing previous tunes and that..u would be like writing over whatever is on there..and entering what u need.
