short throw?

Default short throw?

Somebody commented that i miht have a short throw on my car. How can you tell? My shifter sucks in my opinion? and how hard is the install if i buy one?

It isn't hard to install at all. Why not take it apart and see if it is aftermarket? I think you would know if it had a short throw on it.

Grip the shifter put it in third and if nuckles touch the stereo I say it the stock piece of sh*t

My hand was a good 2-3 inches from the dash. Still doesn't seem like short throws.

How stiff is the centering spring in neutral? My MGW has an extremely solid centering spring, sometimes TOO solid. The stock shifter will be very loose and have lots of play while in gear and in neutral.

twist off your shifter **** and just take off the plastic panel surrounding the boot. Just squeeze the two sides together, and pull out towards youand it should just pop off (I know how that sounds, be mature). Then if you see a pure black handle going into the inner shift boot, then it's stock. Anything else is aftermarket.

Better yet, take off the plastic panel, and take pics of the shifter. We can tell with pics.

^^^ Yes that too! Mine is just like that. The stock shifter can even stay put on either side of neutral. My MGW is very stiff, and it will just pop right back into place.
