Default flowmaster 40 series

Hi everyone. I have a serious question to ask.

If I have2 different size flowmaster mufflers one is 2.50 the other is 2.25. Would they be OK to hook up to my exhaust? What had happened was I bought them at a very good price and brand new, never used. I really didn't look at them when I got them, but I knew they had two different part numbers and never questioned it because of the price. I just took them and left. So now I opened them and felt I have been duped because of my lack of experience with exhaust systems

I would like for them to be welded on. They're only mufflers. I heard that I can clamp them, but it will leak so I'd rather do it the correct way, by welding them on.

They will be fine welding to your stock catback. You will just need reducers for the one muffler.
Don`t clamp them. Have them welded in for sure.

What do you mean by welding them to my "stock catback"? Aren't I just replacing my old mufflers with these? And what are reducers? Can I get them from Pepboys? Or any local auto parts store?

I am asking because I am new to this sort of stuff [&:]. Thanks for your help sprostang

What I mean is, your taking out your stock mufflers and welding the new ones in their place. The reducers you will need you should be able to get at any auto parts store or just let the muffler shop supply them.

Good luck.. You shouldn`t have any problems getting them welded in.
