Default Hey H & X pipe guys

I was thinking of getting a H or X pipe on my car, to free up some HP. I have seen good amounts of performance from off road pipes, but does anyone have a uppgraded H or X pipe with only 2 cats on it instead of six? If so does the check engine light come on, and is it worth it to upgrade. I would love to have an off road X pipe but then how would I pass the Inspection once a year?
by the way the car is a 2003 mustang Gt

H-Pipe = More muscle car sounding
X-Pipe = More exotic sounding

For the check engine light get MIL eliminators, they're basically just boosters that plug into your o2 sensors and turn that light off.

When I went to emissions last I threw my stock exhaust back on. Was a big pain in the *** but hey it worked.

I had a offroad h-pipe and swtiched to a magnaflow x-pipe ( it has 2 cats). I prefer the sound of the magnaflow pipe. They are about the same performance wise you just need to find the sound you prfer.

Mine had six cats as well. I was told that cars that came from cali came with six. Replaced mine yesterday with an H pipe and it sounds freakin awesome but no performance gain was felt!
